The team’s main focus is to provide services for students ages three months to eighteen years old. We operate the Totem Preschool and the Tin Mun Mun Daycare for children aged 3 months to 12 years. To ensure the success of our learners in School District #48, we collaborate through an enhancement agreement and a government-to-government protocol agreement.
To be inclusive of our whole community, the Education team also provides cultural workshops for adults and Elders and is dedicated to the revival and continuation of our Sḵwx̱wú7mesh cultural teachings, practices, and language.
Tin Mun Mun Daycare is a licensed facility that provides services to Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw and other First Nation children. The daycare is funded through a federal grant and provincial childcare operating funding. This funding arrangement helps all First Nation parents that use the daycare, by drastically lowering childcare payments compared to non-federally funded programs.
We have three programs: infant and toddler class, 3-5 year old class, and after school care for 6-12 years old.
The daycare operates Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
