Ta X̱ay Sxwimálatncht is the name of the online database that houses the Archives, Reference Library, and Cultural Collection.
Archives
The Archives collects, preserves, and shares materials related to the history, language, and culture of the Nation. The holdings, both physical and digital, consist of textual records, newspaper clippings and ephemera, photographs, audiovisual materials, maps, and published materials. The scope of the Archives also includes administrative and departmental records of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw.
Library
The Reference Library consists of books and published materials about Sḵwx̱wú7mesh history, language, and culture, as well as academic research, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh sníchim related children’s books, and reference books. The Library is non-circulating; please get in touch to arrange a visit to access the collection.
Cultural Collection
The Cultural Collection are items that represent aspects of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh cultural heritage and art. The collection includes carvings, baskets, weavings, paintings, and other forms of art that are being actively collected, shared, and preserved for future generations of Nation Members. Please get in touch if you have any artwork or items to add to the Collection.
