Shingles, also known as herpes zoster, is an infection that shows up as a painful skin rash with blisters, usually on part of one side of the body. Shingles vaccines are free to First Nations Elders who are 60 years and older, and have benefits through the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA).
The shingles vaccine is administered in two doses, with the second dose typically given two months after the first.
